Ten artists, ten unique lessons, and an exciting range of mixed media approaches.
Julia Weston
Julia is a mixed media artist and creativity coach who works with acrylics, inks, collage, and found materials. In her festival lesson she shows how inspiration from coastal landscapes and daily walks can be translated into expressive mixed media work, often beginning in the sketchbook.
Karen Stamper
Drawing from her coastal upbringing in Yorkshire, Karen creates evocative collages using found and painted papers. In her lesson you will see how layering, sanding, and reconstructing materials can lead to textured compositions with an urban, atmospheric feel.
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer
Julie’s vibrant work explores identity and perception through layers of colour, texture, and meaning. For the festival she shares her playful, energetic way of building up layers and marks, encouraging you to experiment and discover your own visual language.
Jennifer Wilkin Penick
Based in Washington DC, Jennifer explores patterns and repetition as a way of bringing order to chaos. Her lesson is designed for all skill levels and focuses on accessible collage techniques that invite you to play with rhythm, pattern, and simple materials.
Marabeth Quin
Working from Nashville, Marabeth specialises in landscapes and abstract botanicals with a focus on resilience and self compassion. In her class she encourages you to embrace imperfection and find a personal connection to your subject through expressive mark making and colour.
Linden Eller
Linden combines memory and present experience in her delicate mixed media creations. Using paper, transparencies, sewing thread, and found materials, she demonstrates a gentle, intuitive way of layering that celebrates sustainability, mindfulness, and the beauty of imperfection.
Kim Hamburg
Kim is a self taught artist whose journey began during the Covid lockdown. With a background in science, she embraces experimentation and creates intricate collages using vintage paper, paint, and ink. Her lesson invites you to explore themes of identity and resilience through layered collage.
Rebecca Chapman
Rebecca’s joyful mixed media work combines sketching, collaging, and photography with vibrant colours. In her festival session she encourages you to bring mixed media into your everyday life, building confidence through simple, repeatable creative habits.
Gloria Gelo
Gloria’s contemporary abstract art balances complexity and clarity, creating modern compositions with a graphic edge. Her lesson focuses on design, contrast, and texture, helping you to refine your own sense of composition while still keeping the process playful.
Lydia Rink – Your host for the event
In my video tutorial we explore how to combine ink, collage papers, and rich textures to create a cohesive three part artwork. You will see how different media can work together in harmony to build depth, movement, and connection across a textured triptych.
Let this be your opportunity to learn, experiment, and connect with a vibrant community of artists who share your passion for art making.
